Join us at Toi MAHARA to celebrate the opening of Thirteen Months of Memories, Huhana Smith & Ciaran Banks.
Thirteen Months of Memories explores the artists’ personal experiences with short-term memory loss with reference to their work as kaitiaki environmentalists.
Born in Yarrawonga, Victoria, Australia, Huhana is of Māori descent and affiliates to Ngāti Tukorehe and Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga. Huhana has combined her art practice with her career in the museum and academic sectors, her most recent role being Head of Whiti o Rehua School of Arts at Massey University in Wellington.
Huhana will also give a floor talk about Thirteen Months of Memories at 2pm on Saturday 10 August.
