The Field Collection is a collection of 44 works, 24 of them paintings by Frances Hodgkins (1869–1947), considered New Zealand’s most significant expatriate artist. It is the largest collection of Hodgkins’ work outside Te Papa Tongarewa and city collections in Dunedin, Auckland and Christchurch.
While Toi MAHARA has a close focus on the Field Collection, there are three other works in the collection which have been gifted to the gallery.
Tours of Te Kohinga | Collection Store
Bespoke guided viewings are available by appointment and can be booked between 11:00am–3:00pm, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. You can also book the regular tour, scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month.
The viewings are hosted by Vicki Robson, Heritage Curator or Janet Bayly, Gallery Director.
