A record in photographs and film of the work of Groundtruth.
In late 2019, Aotearoa New Zealand began to be gripped by the covid pandemic. This resulted in the central government decision to support “Jobs for Nature” projects that would provide employment and capacity building, assisting economic recovery, while undertaking important nature based work.
Mahi mō te Taiao: Waikanae Jobs for Nature project was proposed and accepted for funding. Groundtruth was engaged to develop and operate this project on behalf of the steering group. Groundtruth is a Kāpiti company who works with manawhenua and community on integrated land and conservation management.
This exhibition aims to show how a group of committed, collaborative people, with diverse objectives, have explored and begun to develop practical approaches in this complex space of weaving together the values and moemoeā of manawhenua, agencies and community.
