When Frances Hodgkins settled in England after the war, she brought with her a rich stock of European sources gathered during her time in France. This talk by Dr Pamela Gerrish Nunn introduces some of the lesser known artists Frances Hodgkins drew for the art she forged in the 1920s and ’30s.
Dr Pamela Gerrish Nunn, formerly professor of art history at the University of Canterbury, is well known internationally as a specialist on women artists of the 19th and early 20th centuries. She has published articles and given conference papers on Frances Hodgkins, curated an exhibition of Hodgkins’ works at the NZ Portrait Gallery and contributed to several Toi MAHARA exhibitions.
The lecture will be held at Waikanae Community Centre, 28 Utauta Street, Waikanae
