Toi MAHARA is the Kāpiti Coast’s award-winning art gallery and its Board of Trustees is currently seeking expressions of interest to fill a vacancy on the Board.
This is a voluntary role for someone with experience in governance or leadership, ideally with existing Kāpiti Coast networks, a passion for the visual arts and the work of Toi MAHARA.
Toi MAHARA reopened in 2024 following an extensive rebuild of its Mahara Place base. It is now the home of the Field Collection of high value works of art including several by internationally acclaimed artist Frances Hodgkins.
The Board’s ongoing priorities are focused on financial sustainability which includes optimising business and fundraising opportunities, our performance in serving Kāpiti communities and our partnership agreement with the Kāpiti Coast District Council.
