Celebrate Kahe Te Rau o te Rangi and Te Rangitopeora — distinguished rangatira of Kāpiti who signed the Treaty to affirm their authority over the land. The taonga in the exhibition are testament to their mana and carry forward an enduring legacy. Artists as descendants of Kahe Te Rau o te Rangi and Te Rangitopeora are joined by others of Ngāti Toa, Te Ātiawa ki Whakarongotai, Ngāti Raukawa and mātāwaka artists who respond to these ancestral figures, honouring traditional forms while creating space for new narratives. Their works reflect the evolving tikanga that binds land, people, and time.
