Kāpiti eco-textile artist Deb Donnelly has designed a half day of workshops for creative children which draws on the exhibition !Nature in Amami Ōshima! Yukihito Kanai, textile artist
The workshops will be held on Monday 14 April and Tuesday 15 April (FULL) according to the schedule below.
Children attend one or both days.
Schedule
10:00–11:00 AM Make your own tsumugi-inspired patch
11:00–11:30 AM Morning tea in Mahara Place (weather permitting)
11:30–12:30 PM Create a sashiko-inspired, collaged artwork
Suitable for 8–14 year olds. Maximum of 12 students.
Kimono fabric pieces, plain fabrics and threads supplied.
Children should bring a bag, hat or piece of clothing they would like to put a patch on, morning tea and a drink bottle.
