A conversation about Brent Wong’s work will follow between art writer Megan Dunn and art dealer James Blackie.

These stools will enable everyone to enjoy the gallery by providing seating that can be taken around exhibitions and used at events.
Megan Dunn works as a curator and is the author of three irreverent works of non-fiction: Tinderbox (Galley Beggar Press, 2017), her memoir in essays Things I Learned at Art School (Penguin Random House New Zealand, 2021) and The Mermaid Chronicles (Penguin Random House New Zealand, 2024). Megan has published columns, reviews, personal essays and features for a wide range of media and was once the visual arts correspondent on Radio New Zealand’s Saturday morning show, with Kim Hill. In 2022 she was the annual Writer in Residence at the International Institute of Modern Letters, based at Victoria University of Wellington, Te Herenga Waka.

James Blackie is an art dealer and advisor. In 2024, he opened his gallery as a permanent fixture on the Wellington waterfront – transforming the old Mojo café into a dedicated fine art space. While the gallery is new, James Blackie brings over two decades of experience as an art dealer. He represents many of the country’s leading artists and works with private collectors, corporates and public collections in sourcing, commissioning or placing important artworks in exceptional collections.
Steve Poulton is a New Zealand guitarist, vocalist, producer and multi-instrumentalist whose career has spanned intimate acoustic venues, major festivals and international touring throughout New Zealand, Australia, Europe and North America. Known for his cinematic sense of atmosphere and expressive guitar work, Poulton blends ambient textures, electric and acoustic instrumentation, and immersive sonic landscapes into performances that move between stillness, emotion and improvisation. His work as a musician and audio engineer has contributed to internationally recognised and Grammy-honoured projects, alongside a long history of collaborations across folk, blues, jazz, roots and contemporary music.
